Gibson Southern makes it to state

#17A Gibson Southern continued its remarkable run last weekend to claim a spot in the tomorrow's state championship.

The Titans beat #12A Indianapolis Park Tudor 1-0 in overtime in the semifinal match. #4A Lawrenceburg, who throttled Forest Park in Regionals, defeated #2A Heritage Christian 3-1 in the other semifinal. In the title game, the Titans got the better of the Tigers in a 3-1 victory. Gibson Southern won the Evansville Semi-state as the lowest ranked team, so playing at Goebel Soccer Complex evidently worked as a home field advantage. Congratulations, Gibson Southern Titans!

Gibson Southern will play #5A West Lafayette Red Devils for the state title Saturday at 9:30. Neither team has played for a title so a new champion will be crowned.
