Mathematical ratings system developed by Daniel Engler, co-owner of AlmanacSports.com. Began in 2000 as the HoosierPreps.com Football Rankings, then became the AlmanacSports.com Football Rankings in 2001 and then the Engler Prep Grid Ratings in 2005. Rated every team in Indiana and predated champions from 1997
to 1999. Selected champions by class at the end of the regular season and an overall champion after the playoffs were completed.
